The renowned TV chef recently paid a visit to our OG Leeds location as part of his new series exploring food culture in the UK.
In the Yorkshire episode Rick perfects his Yorkshire Pudding recipe (got to be done!), before visiting Tofoo, sampling street food in Leeds City Centre, enjoying a Landlord at Whitelocks, and joining Mayur and Marko for an afternoon of Indian Street Food and Craft Beer at Bundobust.
After trying some of our favourite dishes, all washed down with cold glasses of Bundobust Brewery’s Dhania Pilsner, Rick joined executive chef Gopi in the kitchen to cook up our Anglo-Indian mash up – Raghda Pethis.
In this fusion dish, mushy peas are spiced with garam masala, cooked until tender, and then layered with potato cakes, sev, tomato, onion, and topped off with Bundo’s tamarind chutney. This dish embodies the Bundobust spirit, showcasing the flavours of the North of England and India in a perfect synergy.
Curious to witness Rick’s culinary journey? Catch Bundobust on the Yorkshire episode of Rick’s Stein’s Food Stories on Wednesday 28th February at 6:30pm on BBC 2.
