ABOUT BUNDOBUST BREWERY

Bundobust Brewery will operate as a 150-seat taproom and restaurant within a functioning brewery. Housed in a unique 100-year-old space within the iconic Grade II listed St James building, the brewery is a custom-built 10-hectolitre facility.

“We were due to open in May 2020. The past 18 months have slowed us down but the delay has meant that we’ve been able to develop our beer recipes”
– Marko Husak, Bundobust co-founder

Previously head brewer at Holland’s world-renowned Uiltje Brewery, Dan Hocking is head brewer at Bundobust and has been perfecting recipes in the state-of-the-art facility behind closed doors for the past year.

“Expect the familiar Bundobust vibe, and menu, with the bonus of being in a working brewery”
– Marko Husak, Bundobust co-founder

With high tables and stools, custom made by sustainable furniture outfit Woodmancote Retro, the design of Bundobust Brewery is influenced by US brewpubs, with a nod to German beerhall camaraderie. Each chair is made of 40 recycled plastic water bottles, while beer hall-style tables are repurposed school desks, complete with “So-and-so Woz ‘Ere” etchings.

Original features, from the space’s previous life as a car park, are maintained – lookout for vintage alarm bells, glazed bricks, and ‘Drive Slowly’ signage. A show-stopping feature of Bundobust’s new home is a giant glass atrium, that mirrors Bundobust Manchester Piccadilly’s glass apex.

“The opportunity to carve out an iconic Manchester building from scratch has been a massive undertaking and we’re excited to welcome people in.”
Mayur Patel, Bundobust co-founder

Whether you’re after a quick after-work drink, a comprehensive mid-week feast, or a weekend session, Bundobust Brewery looks to provide a new casual drinking and dining hotspot on Oxford Street, a stone’s throw from Oxford Road station.

“We’re looking forward to opening a unique space alongside theatres and gigs venues, Oxford Road station, and great pubs like The Peveril of the Peak.”
– Mayur Patel, Bundobust co-founder

BREWERY EXCLUSIVE BEER
Available on tap exclusively at the brewery, CARTWAY LAGER will launch on tap from opening. Named after “The Cartway” space within St James Building where Bundobust Brewery is situated, Cartway Lager is a Vienna-style lager.

“Vienna lager is a fantastic balance of sweetness and bitterness and it’s the best all-rounder beer style to pair with food”
Dan Hocking, Bundobust Brewery Head Brewer
